Rebecca Brandes, MPH, serves as the Director of Community Impact for HC2 Strategies, Inc. In her role, she is responsible for planning and executing a portfolio of initiatives improving population health outcomes and systems. She leads consulting engagements, including developing new client relationships, designing new initiatives, leading project execution, facilitating meetings and coaching teams, and harvesting content and learning.

Rebecca has nine years’ experience in public health and has focused her career on transforming hospitals, health systems, and community-based organizations as they achieve impactful results in community well-being and population health. She centers systems-thinking, quality improvement, and equity in her approach. Before joining HC2 Strategies, Rebecca served as a project director at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, where she designed and led large-scale, results-oriented initiatives focused on population health and equity. Rebecca was part of a team who developed a population health strategy framework, Pathways to Population Health, in 2017 for Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and led initiatives for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), to name a few.

She earned a BS in Human Sciences and Public Health from Georgetown University and an MPH from The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. She is a trained Improvement Coach and has received training in quality improvement, facilitation, and equity and racial justice.
